The Hummingbird Growth Cycle

As we were re-roofing our house last month, I was looking at a branch that we need to cut because it hangs way over our roof, and noticed that there was a hummingbird nest.

So I checked in on it a week later, and the babies had hatched; about the size, shape and color of raisins:

Then a week later:

And then by week after that, they were pretty much full-grown:

And then by the next week, they were gone, leaving a mess and a wrecked house. So I guess just like human kids.

Isn't nature cool?!
